AGAI works with such artists.
The Reality We Live In
AGAI artists are not corporate performers. We don’t perform for polluters or power.Â
We perform on streets, in corners, among people speaking about democracy, environmental protection, gender justice, and rights.
Many days, after performances:
we walk long distances to save money
we borrow for travel or food
we discuss justice while worrying about survival
Some of us have houses to stay in. But surviving as ethical artists is still a daily struggle. This is the reality we are asking you to see.
What We Are Doing Right Now
AGAI is currently running a state-wide street theatre campaign on:
Area Sabha (people’s constitutional right to decide local development)
Environmental protection
Gender justice and inequality
We are performing around 100 street plays across Tamil Nadu, making theatre accessible at people’s doorsteps and encouraging young people to take democratic action in their own areas.
This campaign has already started, even without funds.
